Introduction
MaxServ believes that creating trust and privacy contributes to the continued growth of the Internet. It further believes that the efficient collection, use and transfer of information contributes to the development of the Internet and electronic commerce. Of course, all this provided that such information is handled fairly and responsibly.
An SSL Certificate, recognisable by the closed padlock and https:// format in the address bar, offers, among other things, trust and security. This is very important for users of a website, but also for the identity of the website and its owner. This also means that users of a website know that their personal data is handled securely.
The law stipulates that securing the transmission of personal data via the Internet is mandatory. The Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) therefore also recommends using an SSL Certificate. MaxServ does this unconditionally.
Processing of your personal data
Data protection is therefore of great importance to you and MaxServ, and this has long been a high priority at MaxServ. Furthermore, MaxServ is transparent about the way in which it processes the personal data it collects. This Privacy Statement is intended to provide you with relevant information about the collection and processing of data that can be collected via the website www.maxserv.com ("the Website").
MaxServ may collect and process personal data from you when you visit the website. In general, however, you can visit the website without providing any personal data about yourself. Sometimes there may be a need to collect certain personal data in order to provide access to certain parts of our website and/or so that you can request certain information or services from MaxServ. These personal data are processed for the purposes listed below. On account of its pre-contractual or contractual obligations, MaxServ may process your personal data for the following reasons:
- to respond to any requests or questions you submit on or through the website; but also
- to enable you to log into certain restricted areas of our website, and
- to manage your participation in online content.
MaxServ may also use the personal data you share with MaxServ in connection with the following:
- maintaining and improving the website and ensuring its security;
- conducting customer satisfaction surveys;
- for recruitment purposes when you submit a CV or online application, and
- compiling aggregated statistics about the use of the website.
MaxServ may and will do this because of its and your legitimate interests. This is to ensure that you have a positive experience when visiting the website and when interacting with MaxServ.
Finally, we may also use the personal data you share with MaxServ for marketing purposes, but only with your express prior consent of course. This mainly concerns offers tailored to you. This includes newsletters that we send for this purpose. MaxServ also uses so-called re-targeting technologies. We use these technologies to make our internet offering more interesting for you. This technology makes it possible to show advertising to users who are already interested in our products. MaxServ believes that showing personalised, interest-based advertising is generally more interesting to users than advertising that does not have such a personal relationship. The display of these advertising messages on this site is based on cookie technology and an analysis of previous usage behaviour. This form of advertising takes place completely anonymously. No personal data is stored and no usage profiles are linked to your personal data.
How long do we retain your personal data?
If you are an existing customer, MaxServ will retain your personal data for the duration of the contractual and/or business relationship. After termination of the contractual and/or business relationship, we may place your personal data in an inactive database for a period of ten (10) years.
If you are a prospective customer with whom MaxServ does not yet have a contractual and/or business relationship, MaxServ will not retain your data for longer than ten (10) years from the moment first contact was established.
If you are an applicant, and you are not hired, please be aware that MaxServ will erase the data you share with MaxServ no later than four (4) weeks after the end of the application process, unless you have given your consent to retain your data for a longer period. In that case, MaxServ will erase your data at the end of that longer period.
Additionally, MaxServ will retain the log data it keeps for security, maintenance and improvement purposes for no longer than one (1) year after collection of said data.
The above-mentioned terms apply, unless MaxServ is obliged by law to retain personal data for a longer or shorter period of time.
Sharing your personal data
1. External suppliers
MaxServ also relies on external suppliers and partners with whom it may share your personal data for the above-mentioned purposes. When MaxServ engages with these third parties, MaxServ ensures that they provide a level of protection that is appropriate for the personal data that they process on behalf of MaxServ. If these third parties are located outside the European Union, MaxServ will ensure that these third parties co-sign the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
2. Judicial, public and/or government authorities
MaxServ may also be required to disclose your personal data by law, or due to legal proceedings and/or requests from public and government authorities within or outside the country in which you reside. MaxServ may also disclose your personal data if it determines that disclosure is necessary or appropriate for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other matters of public importance.
3. MaxServ may also disclose personal data if it determines, in good faith, that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect its rights and pursue its available remedies, to enforce its terms and conditions, to investigate fraud or protect its operations or users.

You may also request rectification or erasure of your personal data and you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data or to request the restriction thereof. In addition, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured and standard format. You can send an email to support@maxserv.com if you have a request or complaint in that respect. In any case, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Data security and integrity
MaxServ uses various technological and procedural security measures to protect the personal data it collects, uses or transmits against loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. However, you need to be aware that, due to the open and unsecured nature of the Internet, MaxServ is not and cannot be responsible for the security of personal data transmitted over the Internet.

You should be aware that the owners and operators of these external websites may also collect, use or disclose personal data under terms that are different than those applied by MaxServ. When you click on a link to an external website, you should review the privacy policy of that external website.

This Policy was last modified on 9 December 2019. MaxServ may change this Policy from time to time to keep up with new technologies, industry practices and regulatory and legal requirements, among other things. MaxServ expects most changes to be minor.
